hshibley
Dungeons and Dragons. There’s a phone app for the dice. Everything else can be done verbally. Kids play it all the time on my daughter’s Latin club trips.

Bambam
Telestrations is fun. This would be doable in a van where you could pass the booklet around. 20 questions
Farrar
I know you said no screens, but you can get tablet versions of board games like Pandemic or Ticket to Ride which are very well done and play well in a group in a car. Pandemic can be done tabletop style with a single screen that sits there. If you had two kids in the backseat, it would be like they were playing the physical game, but without bits to roll around. Tree Frog
My Cows if you're travelling through an area with cows. We changed it up when we went through Roswell, NM, and called it My Aliens. 1st person to spot a cow or herd of cattle calls my cows. Each call earns 1 point. Dead cows are cemeteries. Everyone but the caller loses all their cows. Holy cows doubles the number of cows for the caller. We added educated cows (school) and rich cow (bank).
