Doubleblessings
We have used AoPS for Prealgebra and Into to Algebra. I am considering looking for something SLIGHTLY less difficult for Geometry (not interested in going to something at the level of Teaching Textbooks etc). Would Jacobs fit this desire, or is it similar in difficulty to AoPS? Any other suggestions? Edited May 2, 2019 by Doubleblessings
RootAnn
Jurgensen? Not on the same plane as AoPS, but challenging (the C level problems).
mathnerd
agree with RootAnn, my suggestion is Jurgensen as well.
Plagefille
Personally I like Jacob's Geometry better than AOPS Geometry. But I still like AOPS. Jacob's Set III problems are challenging. Personally I just found it easier to follow.
Jann in TX
I love the older Jacobs (2nd edition) Geometry. Great lessons and challenge sets. The newer editions are discovery based (but not in a good way like AOPS-- the lessons are not clear and neither is homework-- "Draw this and tell me what you think'-- Answer Key: answers will vary. Jurgensen's Geometry is an excellent text-- strong lessons with challenging problems.
kokotg
Mine really liked the (older) Jacobs. Particularly my now 12th grader (geometry is what really made him fall in math--he's now planning to major in it)....but he was NOT a fan of AOPS when we tried it in middle school. He didn't deal well with anything where he couldn't get everything right 😉
