lynn
I was so relieved. He was not feeling well when he arrived and I was concerned his grad date would be set back. The form letter indicates he passed week 1 physical fitness test and will graduate without being out back.

G5052
I remember those feelings very well when my son left for the Army. The scripted call at 3am when he arrived, and then the postcard. I got another phone call when they finished processing, and then another at the end of "red phase." He was pretty shaken up during those early phone calls, but it got better. They know how to handle all kinds of recruits in all kinds of situations. Mine got shin splints, and I was so worried about him. But he finally decided to tell his drill sergeant and was sent off to get an evaluation with an athletic trainer and orthotics, and he got better. He got a sinus infection and pink eye and got through that too. It's just how it is. Thankfully he graduated on time, and a friend paid for me to go. I still cry during certain commercials about the military on TV, but it's called being a mom.
