Malory
What do you do when your kids do not like to look inside themselves and self-reflect? Struggling with application essays here. Unfortunately, there are no big projects to talk about either. Struggling with application essays here. Unfortunately, there are no big projects to talk about either. The essay does not necessarily have to be deep and introspective. Hopefully it is interesting and reveals something about the student's writing ability, interests, sense of humor (maybe). The readers do not need to look into their souls, if that makes sense. 4
Rosie_0801
One can do an awful lot of self reflection and strongly believe that process is not anyone else's business!

8filltheheart
I agree that it does not not need to be deeply reflective. My kids have written about all kinds of different things. Has he read JHU's Essays that Worked? They might help. 4
regentrude
College essay does not need to be self reflection. I think the admission people who read them must get rather sick of the introspection of thousands of 17 year olds. 1
