Hilltopmom
Ds is applying EA to his top three schools (he should get in at them, no issues, but one is a financial reach), but we don't know if he should Send all his other applications in at once?- he has a few other choices plus a local financial safety. Or Wait to hear from his top two, then submit the others if need be? All others are state schools with rolling admissions.
Matryoshka
If he's got the applications ready, I can't see what benefit there is to waiting unless you are really pinched on paying the couple extra application fees...?
Hilltopmom
Nah, we can swing them. And they're ready to go. That makes sense, this is just all starting to drive me in crazy circles...
Julie of KY
We only waited on a few, but they were outliers in his search. The benefit of applying early is to find out early, get financial aid earlier, and more scholarships get handed out early. This is potentially better information to then make a decision.
GoodGrief
I'd go ahead and submit. A lot can change in a year too, and it's possible his top choices may become less appealing for whatever reason. Good to have the other possibilities ready to go.
Hoggirl
Some schools have scholarship priority deadlines. My niece didn't apply until later and got less scholarship money than she was eligible for because she missed the priority deadline for being considered.
Sebastian (a lady)
I agree with getting them in. Especially the rolling admissions schools. It is such a nice boost to get decisions back. As others mentioned, it can help with meeting early financial aid deadlines. It also gives you more time to do visits if he wants to. I think it feels pretty great not to have apps hanging over ones head because they are in.
