yvonne
Is it really necessary to include ISBNs for texts listed in the course descriptions? Seems like people have said to include them, but I'm not sure they add much value, esp for works of literature.

No. They add zero value, and no college admissions official will bother looking at them.
yvonne
No. They add zero value, and no college admissions official will bother looking at them. Thank you, thank you. I think it will look much neater w/out them.
Sebastian (a lady)
No isbn. I don't even give more than author and title unless it really adds meaningful info.
daijobu
Yeah, I always thought including the ISBN was a little weird.
Sebastian (a lady)
Yeah, I always thought including the ISBN was a little weird. It used to be required on NCAA eligibility worksheets for homeschoolers. I think it may have crossed over from that into more general use. I don't think it really proves anything other than the edition of the book listed. I don't know if they still require it for NCAA.
Mom22ns
I had to go back and look to see if I included them. I didn't.
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
I might consider adding a date or edition for books where that would be relevant. ISBN doesn't add any value.
regentrude
I might consider adding a date or edition for books where that would be relevant. For most subjects, it won't. College admissions officials are unlikely to be familiar with even the authors and titles of the textbooks; they will have no clue about differences in editions.
