Farm and Isabelle Pictures

Recommended Posts

I took some critter pictures today. I like seeing others' pictures, and it is fun to post them. We should start a critter-picture thread :D

This is Isabelle

This is Phoenix, the kids' pony. He has a grass pasture, but I took his picture in his dirt 'runway' area leading up to his barn.

Here is a chicken. She was pecking around while I moved straw and manure.

Here are the silly ducks

And here is what I have been working on for days--moving the manure/straw pile to the garden.

Great pictures, Izzy looks like she's thriving.

What do your kids do with their pony?

Well, different things at different times. Ds14 used to ride him quite a bit, but he really doesn't anymore. Phoenix is half quarter horse and half pony so he is big enough, and ds is a good rider. But he seldom rides.

Dd8 rides him and brushes him and has put pink ribbons in his mane! ha ha.

Mainly, he is just a big pet. Very sweet pony. In his picture he is fuzzy; I love how fuzzy they get in the winter.

How cute are your animals!! I didn't realize you had other animals other than the cows. Wonderful! What are all of the animals you have? This will be a little homeschooling lesson for my dd! ;)

Sheryl, my husband and I both love animals, so that makes for quite a zoo. ha. My brother likes to bring his baby son here to the 'petting zoo' as he calls it. Here is the roll call:

5 cats

2 dogs (Collie and Basset Hound)

1 rabbit (he is a long-haired Jersey Wooley rabbit, and he lives in the basement)

1 gerbil (there used to be more--long, sad story having to do with one of the cats :glare:)

13 chickens (there used to be more--until butchering day happened. )

4 very silly ducks

1 calf (we will soon be adding a borrowed milk cow :thumbup1:)

1 pony

The animals keep us very busy, but we love them.
