High back boosters expire?

I just realized today that our high back booster was made in 2010. It is an Evenflo Big Kid seat. I think I gather from online that it expires in 6 years. How can a seat with no harness expire? Is this actually expired? There is no expiration date on the seat, just manufacture. Does it sound like I need to toss this out?

The plastic heats up and cools down in extreme temps cars can reach. It causes it to degrade over time and that's why they put expiration dates on them.

My personal opinion is that they are belt positioners and it's not the same as crash protection in a car seat where the frame is more important. But I'm not giving any advice whatsoever.
