caedmyn
I'm looking for a book on learning sign language that has a format where it teaches a few signs, and then gives you sentences to practice incorporating that signs. And then teaches a few more signs, and then gives you a few more sentences incorporating both the new and old signs. Like the Berlitz Self-Teacher books...for ASL. I've found a couple like this for signed English, but not for ASL. Does anyone know of a book (or DVD) like this?

Daria
Signing Time has a Sentence series. They're also starting up online classes. Is signing time ASL? I thought it was baby sign? I really like Signing Naturally, which is the text I am using in my ASL 1 class at Gallaudet.

I really like Signing Naturally, which is the text I am using in my ASL 1 class at Gallaudet. It is ASL. I think some signs are simplified in Baby Signing Time, but the series progresses and on each video there is a behind the scenes/chat with Rachel about various signs used and how the grammar works in the songs. happi duck
A Basic Course also has a separate book with more practice sentences. I was able to get a copy from the library to look at before ordering.
