bluebonnetgirl
It's been challenging to find something for my JH son to enjoy reading on his own, but he finally found one he likes - the Michael Vey series. What would be a good next step to this? I'd like to kick it up a notch but still keep him interested. Thanks! alisoncooks
I only read the first Michael Vey book, so take this with a grain of salt... Maybe he'd like Mark Frost's Paladin Prophecy series (3 book series). I enjoyed these.
blondeviolin
My boy is loving Michael Vey. He's about younger, though, so take these suggestions with that mind. Percy Jackson 39 Clues Infinity Ring Ranger's Apprentice
Valley Girl
FYI--my son likes the books, too. We used one of them for in his reading curriculum a few years back. He really enjoyed having something fun instead of Mom's usual selections (his words). In case you aren't aware, there are curriculum guides on the website. We were able to have several valuable conversations about personal character, going along with group, etc. when we studied it.
wapiti
My ds loves the Michael Vey series so much that he begged me to buy the newest one rather than endure the long library waitlist. I haven't gotten him hooked on anything new yet, though the librarian recommended the Ranger's Apprentice series by Flanagan and the later Dashner books that ds hasn't read yet (Eye of the Mind, etc.).
