SparklyUnicorn
Sunday paper delivery only (with 7 day full Internet access) costs $1 per week. I just reordered 26 weeks and added in $5 for a tip. That works out to about 19 cents per paper. Feels kind of cheap to me, but I dunno, maybe not. I delivered papers as a kid and a typical tip was 20 cents per week for 7 day a week delivery. Of course that was 100,000 years ago.
TXBeth
I think it's fine; it's nearly 20%. People with 7-day delivery will tip more.
Pegasus
People still pay to get a newspaper delivered? I thought that went the way of milk delivery. We get a couple of papers but they are freebies and we don't ask for them. We pull out the sales flyers for the grocery store and recycle the rest. Farrar
I tend to think that 20% is nearly always okay as tips go.
Spryte
100,000 years ago? That's all? You are so young! My kids ask me about life with the dinosaurs...
ThursdayNext
Way back when I used to deliver the paper, people only tipped at Christmas.
lynn
I made $6 a week delivering papers (tips only) and bit more at Christmas. Considering people get paid for delivering papers today 20 percent is about right.
