Familia Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Please share your favorite sewing websites or blogs. I was looking through my old bookmarks, and I was so disappointed in the results. Many have gone kaput - either going out of business or blogs no longer running. I love photo tutorials of simple projects for sewing and how-to explanations like adding a pocket to a skirt or using my serger. Can you share your favorite online sewing sources so I can update my bookmarks? Thank you! Quote
3 ladybugs Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I like Peekaboo Pattern Shop but she does do a lot for children and it may not be exactly what you are looking for. All of her patterns though are great whatever age they are for. I have most of her woman's patterns. 1 Quote
Lady Florida. Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) I like the Sew Mama Sew site, including the blog. They have a lot of tutorials with photos, and there's a variety of projects and free patterns. Projects range from beginner to advanced. I had a few other blogs bookmarked but like with yours many are no longer active. A few went too far with sponsors and began to look like nothing but advertising. Anyway, here's the link. I haven't figured out yet how to put links in text on my tablet. http://www.sewmamasew.com ETA: Another one. http://sewingfantaticdiary.blogspot.com Edited July 8, 2016 by Lady Florida. 1 Quote
Mothersweets Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Have you ever looked at Craftsy.com? I know I use to have some good sewing blogs saved-I'll poke around and see if I can find them. The Great British Sewing Bee is beyond fabulous and I think they are up to season 6 now. Quote
Rachel Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 http://www.madeeveryday.com/ This blog is fabulous, look at the archives for cute dress patterns and boy clothes. She used to host a month long sewing series aimed at boys. 1 Quote
Rachel Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Here is a commercial pattern site: http://oliverands.com/ . There is a Flickr group and Pinterest page where you can see cute variations of patterns. Quote
LJPPKGFGSC Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 This is my favorite.... Curvy Sewing Collective http://curvysewingcollective.com/ Anyone, no matter their size, who wants to lean how to fit patterns to their own unique bodies could learn something from this website. And also .... Collette Patterns https://blog.colettehq.com/ They have tons of tutorials, including even more articles from Seamworks magazines. Happy sewing! 1 Quote
