Any good books on Gardening??

Recommended Posts

Dh and I tried our hand at gardening this summer for the first time, and we found Carla Emery's Encyclopedia of Country Living to be quite helpful. There is information on just about any vegetable or herb you could want to grow in this 800-and-some page book, as well as recipes and methods of preservation.

Best of luck to you with your garden!

Someone on this board recommended Rodale's All-New Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening to me earlier this summer. I bought it, and we love it. Even if you're not wanting to go all organic, it is full of great tips. I love the way it is set up, too. Want to plant carrots? Simply look up carrots in the index, and it will point you to a section on planting, caring for, and harvesting carrots. One of the best things for me is that it tells you how to know when your veggies are ready to harvest.
