Have you ever just felt like retreating from people?

I mean I am super outgoing, in my own humble :) opinion friendly, and generally don't have issues with folks.  Oh my goodness.

The pettiness and outright rudeness of some people lately has me feeling like one of those women who say - oh no, I don't do girlfriends, women are mean.

They really can be~

I have some women friends and enjoy them. I don't do groups of women. Learned lesson more than once. No clubs or activities or volunteering with more than 2 other women. The opportunity for simple interaction to feel like the middle school cafeteria is too great.

Yep. No groups. I have friends but always do things one on one. My life is much less stressful since adopting this policy. I wouldn't even say I've encountered mean female drama. Just overly sensitive hurt feelings type drama, which was exhausting enough. Sorry your experiencing drama! :(

I do my best to step away from drama. Sometimes it runs right out in front of me and I run smack into it. After such a crash, I have to really pull back into avoidance mode (seriously, to avoid stress levels with physical side effects).

Then, some people think *I'm* the one reacting inappropriately. Sigh. Sometimes a gal can't win. (And you're right, it's mostly between women in my experience.)

Sorry you've had a crash. Hope it resolves soon and fully.

Yup. This is what just happened in a group I'm in. Everyone took sides, I covered my ears and hid in the corner and called Switzerland, and now I'm pretty much left out of the loop.

I think I like fictional characters more than real people right now.
