Ethel Mertz
Am I the only one who has a literal yarn mountain - four feet high and at least as wide? Does anyone have yarn mountain organizing tips? I have already made a resolution of "No New Yarn in 2016."
catz
Ha - my resolution is donate a bunch of yarn so I can buy a bunch more. ;) And yes, I definitely have this issue. I'm actually hoping to teach a class this year that will help me use up some remnants too.
Carol in Cal.
Technically this is called 'Stash'. :) And yes. I have Stash.
HomeAgain
9 cubes. They are wonderful for organizing by color, type, or weight.
horsellian
I only have one giant storage box for all my craft stuff, and it doesn't currently all fit! I'm trying to work down my stash by knitting some things for me/family, and lots of hats etc. for charity. And I knit a whole hat today :-)
Cinder
I have one of those Ikea bookcases with the glass front doors, 5 shelves. Shelves are generally divided by: acrylic, sock yarn, cotton & wool, "Nice Yarns" (indie dyed stuff mostly) & misc (tapestry wool), scraps & supplies (scissors, needles, etc). The scraps are divided into plastic shoeboxes by fiber content. I did a partial clean up yesterday and it really hit me how much yarn I have--the cabinet is packed! Two of my Ravelry groups are doing sock-a-month challenges which will help work down the stash a little. And one of these groups is also doing a Clean Slate Challenge to work down WIPs and use up old stash (at least 3 months old). I'm not committed to not buying any yarn this year--cold sheeping. I just need to knit faster! :D
