Onceuponatime
We are staying in this year and would like to watch a movie that has a New Years celebration in it. This is for ages 11yo- middle aged. A few laughs would would be a plus, but not necessary. Do you have any favorites?
Cinder
In keeping with tradition we'll be watching Duck Soup. I'm not exactly sure how/when this tradition started--might have been from when dh was growing up--but in our house NYE = Marx Brothers. I think last year was A Night at the Opera. I'm not a big fan but dh and the boys like it.

Pink and Green Mom
Tomorrow on Turner Classic Movies is all Marx Brothers until around 8 pm - my boys LOVE those movies. I am not a huge fan but just seeing them laugh so much makes it bearable for me. The rest of the evening is the Thin Man movies, which have some good laughs in them.

gardenmom5
Movies we've watched on New Year's Eve: Around the World in 80 Days (David Niven) - this one is long . . . I know I am forgetting some. if you like that one - you should really like "the great race". (tony curtis, jack lemon, natalie wood). (not a new year's movie. per se, but it's very good. and long.)
