mom31257
If you are part of a couples SS class that includes families with small children, tell me about your past Christmas class parties. What did you do? Where did you meet?
vonfirmath
One of the ways our church supports its Sunday Schools is, every other month, our church offers cheap babysitting through the nursery and paid helpers at a set time and place so that Sunday Schools can get together without the kids. Our class has their party during the December time. During the last two of these they hel, they ran it as a "Mini-VBS" for the older kids -- with set activities and lessons. (It is generally 5-8:30p and I think the older kids were getting bored during that time) We meet at the church itself. (we could go out to a restaurant, but find it is easier and cheaper to stay at the church). Have potluck food, bring a small gift to exchange and there are usually some games. Tess in the Burbs
My mom does a "minute to win it" themed party every year. That might work well with kids. Perhaps everyone chip in for a few teens to watch the kids when just the adults want to hang out?

FloridaLisa
The only Christmas SS party I remember that included kids was a party out on someone's property. The kids had a treehouse, pony rides, a hay ride and outdoor games to play. It was during the day.
QueenCat
We've usually done our SS Christmas Social "child free" other than babies that are carried. It's for some special adult time. Our other socials during the year do include the children, so please don't think we're against having kids around :) Just the one special time each year. Parents arrange for their own child care if they need it but I like the ideas above about group care. As for things we do: FOOD, lots of FOOD, fun drinks, Dirty Santa game (which takes up quite a bit of time) and socializing.
