mathnerd Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 We have been doing AOPS Pre-alg without the Alcumus so far mostly because I forget to schedule a time to watch it. Going forward, I would like to include it. So, for those of you who use Alcumus along with the books, what is the order in which you go through each chapter? Do you go through the chapter in the books first, solve the problems and then use Alcumus for review or do you do it the other way around? TIA! wapiti Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 We used Alcumus problems for review, usually some time later on. I would definitely do the book exercises before using Alcumus. If you were referring to the videos, we didn't watch them much. crazyforlatin Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 For the online class we had to scramble to finish Alcumus before the session ended in order to avoid a deduction. So it ended up being a review, but when we did do some of Alcumus during each chapter, we would do it after the textbook problems and before the chapter test administered by AoPS. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mike in SA Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Always trailing. AoPS doesn't have much repetition, so the reinforcement process has to be accommodated.
