SWC (Star Wars content): Should newbies watch in order of release or order of story?

Watch 4, 5, and 6. Skip 1,2, and 3 unless your kids request it because sadly kids seem to like those movies. And pray that the new one is good!

 

We introduce our kids to 4 and 5 this weekend. They loved it. My 6 year old is hooked.

If someone watched episode 1 first, I am not sure why this would be a question. They wouldn't even bother watching 2-6.

 

Episode 4 is the way to start Star Wars.

I thought Padme was in a state of complete mental shock.

 

if I was heavily pregnant and just found out that my husband had turned into a mass murderer of children I would probably be in a state of shock.

For the first moment or so, but with physical attack shock usually becomes replaced by a primitive urge to live and protect one's offspring. 

 

I'd be in shock as well, and then anger would set in and I'd pick up the nearest light saber. I imagine Padme would have done the same.

Padre's character came crashing down for me at the moment she stands at the window in her nighty brushing her long curly hair.  

At that moment I realized there was no Force, no galaxy far, far away, no droids no nothing because you Do. Not. Brush. Curly. Hair.

I would watch 4,5, 6, and whatever comes after if it is good, which I hope it will be.

 

1,2 and 3 had more bad than good in them IMO.  I wanted that annoying kid to die from the moment he started talking, and the older he got the more he annoyed me.

 

He kind of ruined Darth Vader for me.

I never ever thought I'd watch them, just not my thing. But my kids watched one and couldn't stop. I always wondered why dh insisted we watched them in order of release?? Made no sense to me. Would much rather have watched them in order of the story...
