Kathryn
While I was putting the baby down for her nap just now, my ten year old decided to play with food coloring. A rather large area of our new unsealed tile floor got involved. Any tips for getting blue food coloring out of the grout?
Clear Creek
Straight vinegar and a grout brush?
IdahoHomeschooler
Straight bleach might be your only hope. Vinegar is used to 'set' food coloring when dyeing stuff, so I'd skip that. Was it the little food color droppers or the Wilton's jars of food color paste?
Mergath
Oh, man. That sucks. Maybe a lot of scrubbing with a magic eraser if the bleach doesn't work?
Plink
This might work - it makes our grout bright white from normal grime, but I've never tried it on food coloring. http://goedeckedecorating.com/how-the-pros-clean-grout/

Erica in OR
Clorox makes a gel bleach "pen" you might try. It has a fine tip on one end and a wider brush on the other. It might work better because the gel can sit on the stain for a bit without running off. Erica in OR
Tiramisu
I'm not sure if it will help food dye but I recently used Kaboom (purchased at Target) and it seemed to remove more grout stains than other similar cleaners I've tried.
Kathryn
Oxy clean is what I had on hand so tried that first. I made a paste of it and then scrubbed. It did get a lot out but there's still a blue tinge to it. I'll get to the store later for more options. Thank you!
zoobie
You can make a paste with flour and peroxide to draw out the dye. It sorta works. :/
Hypatia.
I spilled Procion fabric dye (so a bit different), but we had to regrout that area.
kitten18
What is the original color of the grout? With bleach or peroxide you might remove some of the color from the grout. If that happens you can probably get a grout dye at Home Depot to get the original color back in the grout. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Custom-Building-Products-Polyblend-381-Bright-White-8-oz-Grout-Renew-Colorant-GCL381HPT/203498062?cm_mmc=SEM%7CTHD%7Cgoogle%7CD23+Tile&mid=s2Y2ej22q%7Cdm_mtid_8903pdd25182_pcrid_64472351008_pkw__pmt__product_203498062&gclid=Cj0KEQjw2KyxBRCi2rK11NCDw6UBEiQAO-tljVJ2IhsLxqu2RlWYXa6CSdxdSOXUowaAitMYLjeeS_saAuqk8P8HAQ# So, if you end up bleaching the grout you can use something like this to add the color back in.
