fairfarmhand
I'm looking for some Shakespearean spoofs and parodies. Long, short, whatever. This is for my teen drama group. I'd love to do some comedic interpretations of Shakespeare. I've thought of doing a scene or two from this book or one of the others in the series. http://www.amazon.com/William-Shakespeares-Empire-Striketh-Back/dp/1594747156 So that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Suggestions?
fairfarmhand
Also, any youtube videos that would work for inspiration will work too.
Valley Girl
I can't hear certain pieces of classical music without thinking about the Gilligan's Island version of Hamlet (although that's probably not what you're looking for). Aurelia
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead Two Gentlemen of Lebowski Bill is a new film coming out in the UK. It's not about his plays specifically, but about Shakespeare's life before becoming a playwright. You could compare West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet. JoJosMom
You might want to google "The Reduced Shakespeare Company." They get a little raunchy, but I think it's completely okay for teens (I let my 12 year-old watch them and I'm pretty conservative.)
marbel
You might want to google "The Reduced Shakespeare Company." They get a little raunchy, but I think it's completely okay for teens (I let my 12 year-old watch them and I'm pretty conservative.) I used to see these guys at a Renaissance Faire back in the 80s and 90s. We recently got the dvd from the library. My kids loved it. Yeah, it's over the top and there is some vulgarity but overall... so fun. We also have the Star Wars Shakespeare. Fun!
