silver
I'm looking for a way for my son to practice his multiplication tables without using flashcards/mad minute style worksheets or computer games. I was hoping to find something that uses multiplication to solve a puzzle. Maybe a maze? Or decoding a hidden message? Or a color by number? Anything that adds a puzzle-like aspect to doing a handful of multiplication problems. Does anyone know of a website (or even a book to purchase would be fine) that does this? Miss Tick
Mindware has a book called Multiplication Mosaics. What you might like is their Addition Adventures book (but for multiplication).
Kerileanne99
We liked the MindWare books too, but if you google 'Multiplication fun sheets' you get a huge variety of free pages like this in all different themes and activities:)
athomeontheprairie
Not necessarily what you ate looking for but right start uses games. Their book on card games has a wealth of ideas for learning all types of math. Some of the multiplication games are my favorite :-)
silver
Multiplication Mosaics looks just like what I was thinking, thanks!I actually have the RS card games. We've done a few of the games from the multiplication chapter but none of them were really enjoyable for him the way the addition ones were. I'll have to look through the chapter again to see if any look better than the few we've tried.
Farrar
Worksheetworks has a bunch like that, including mazes and puzzles: http://www.worksheetworks.com/ Free, customizable. It's a useful drill worksheet generator site, but they also have these options for slightly more creative ways to practice. Here's the maze: http://www.worksheetworks.com/puzzles/math-maze.html Cross number puzzles can include multiplication: http://www.worksheetworks.com/puzzles/crossnumber.html My kids especially liked the secret map and it can do multiplication: http://www.worksheetworks.com/puzzles/secret-map.html

zoobie
Scholastic has a bunch of e-book games and puzzles. I have grabbed a few during their dollar days sale. Example of one: http://teacherexpress.scholastic.com/math-line-designs-from-around-the-world-grades-4-6-mkt10995
