I felt the same way when I first saw a waterway or utility authority vehicle, unsinkable. Sort of a "whose boss are you?" reaction.

 

When you come from a place where the word "authority" isn't used for these things it is funny to see it for the first time!

 

(Around here the truck would have said DPW, for 'department of public works.')

We are renting, so not our expense. At that moment I was really happy not to be a homeowner. But our landlord is very nice and we have a good deal so we hate to bug her. We try to keep the place nice and take care of it. Still, a day off work.
