Sunshine State Sue
I just sent ds his mail-in ballot with a stamp and a $20 bribe. :patriot: Anyone else encouraging their college student to vote this fall?
Caroline
Mine is registered at his college, which is allowed in Georgia. He will be voting.
Sunshine State Sue
Mine is registered at his college, which is allowed in Georgia. He will be voting. Interesting. I thought that as long as ds was a dependent of ours, his legal residence would be our home, and he would vote in elections here.
Pawz4me
Mine is registered here at our home, but since he's less than a 90 minute drive away it's not a big problem. I just need to check on the early voting dates and times so he can figure out what works for his schedule.
EKS
My son very quickly registered for the draft after he turned 18 but as far as I know has still not registered to vote. I informed him that I would think that a person who could potentially be drafted would have a vested interest in having a voice in government. I don't think that got through though. Jenny in Florida
My college student won't be old enough to vote for another couple of years. My daughter is still mad that she missed voting in the presidential election by only a month the year she turned 18. One of the first things she did after moving over the summer was to change her registration to her new state,
AK_Mom4
I sent DS22 his absentee ballot request - with the stamp already on it - this week. I just got a second one ion the mail and will send that off to DS18 this week in his care package (pre-stamped of course!). DD20 always requests her absentee ballot online, but I did send her the link as a reminder again. All three of my kids have voted each year since they turned 18. Caroline
Interesting. I thought that as long as ds was a dependent of ours, his legal residence would be our home, and he would vote in elections here. In Georgia, GA resident students are allowed to register at college. I know it was different in VA where I went to school. I voted absentee while I was in college.
Pawz4me
Students in NC can register at their college, too. Although we didn't know that until DS had already registered here at home.
