mountains27 Posted September 2, 2014 Share Posted September 2, 2014 I've been using Spelling Workout with my daughter and am not really loving it. I'd like something with a little more to it I guess? I know I don't want AAS or anything similar to that. I like a workbook style that she can do somewhat independently. It's a basic learn a list workbook that's organized by certain phonics rules. Cathy Duffy says it's a little advanced, but my son thinks it's easy. We were working through McGuffey Speller last year, but I like having a workbook that he can do on his own without me. I plan to add bonus words from McGuffey. Chrysalis Academy Posted September 3, 2014 Share Posted September 3, 2014 LOE is great, and it includes phonograms/spelling, dictation, composition, grammar, lots of fun games. We did the first half in 2nd grade, but I actually think it's so perfect for a 3rd grader - dd is enjoying it much more this year and getting more out of it, too.
