kewb
:( He was such a big part of my childhood. Top 40 countdown and Scooby Doo. I had read about the battle with the kids. Very sad for all involved.
Caroline
I listened to his weekly top 40 for years, and Scooby Doo was the one cartoon I was allowed to watch.
kewb
My friend did just post on facebook in regards to the legal issue with the kids-Jean would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those meddling kids. Made me chuckle.

Made me chuckle. I never thought of that. Hopefully it would have made him chuckle too.

Night Elf
The 70s channel in Sirius XM is doing a 24 hour marathon of his 70s countdowns. That's where we heard he had died. That's sad. I remember listening to him as a kid. And of course Scooby Doo was just cool.
Catwoman
:crying: :crying: :crying: It's so sad, particularly because his family was battling all around him, yet the man we all knew for his distinctive voice was no longer able to speak or communicate what he wanted and needed. It sounds like the past years must have been agony for him. :( I felt so sad for his dd when she said she was so upset about the public feuding and discussion of his condition, because she knew her dad wouldn't want to be remembered that way. This is one of those tragic situations where we will never know who was being truthful about his wishes and their intentions, because both Jean Kasem and his children from the previous marriage are telling stories that are diametrically opposed to each other. I just hope that they all loved him and wanted to take care of him, and that the battle wasn't mainly over his money. Whatever the case, I hope Casey felt that he was loved and being cared for, and I'm really hoping he didn't suffer too much emotional pain during his last days. I can't even imagine having my family fighting over me (and the money I was leaving behind) and not being able to express my wishes and my side of the story. :(

freeindeed
My aunt worked at a radio station in the 80's and each week she would give me the actual Top 40 Countdown records when they were done. I had quite an awesome collection! I was the envy of all my friends.
