Tenaj
The title says it all. My 10yods was searching his spelling list today looking for a compound word that met the criteria of the exercise he was completing. He overlooks words like "hardware" and "warehouse" and comes up with "farther" and then starts giggling hysterically and then the giggles spread around the table as everyone realizes what two small words make up his choice of compound words. This is what happens when you are homeschooling a bunch of boys :)
Night Elf
I'd tell him points for creativity but it's still a wrong answer. :)

Truscifi
That's sounds like something ds10 would do. Apparently farts are always funny!

Tenaj
That's sounds like something ds10 would do. Apparently farts are always funny! I went through a phase a few years ago (and I may have gotten the idea from someone on here) that whenever things got a bit serious around the house, I would walk through a room and just randomly say "poop" or "fart". My theory that either word makes boys laugh has never failed!
Snickerdoodle
Your son sounds like a real fart smeller.
kbutton
JanOH, that works well in my house too. "Bottom." "Hee, hee, he said 'bottom.' " (I think I'm roughly quoting Despicable Me 2.) We were doing principal parts of verbs one day, and guess what my kids suggested as a verb? They were stunned when I used it and just kept right on going like nothing was unusual...so you could get a grammar lesson out of this as well. Verbs, nested quotation marks from the movie, etc.
