Night Elf
I forgot about a neat gift I received at my last full time job. It's an audio CD of Patrick Stewart reading A Christmas Carol. i love his voice so it's a nice rendition. I noticed there is a reissue that is abridged. It's $11.50 at Amazon Prime. dirty ethel rackham
So how do you listen to this without imagining the upcoming phrases as "Make it so!" and "Engage." Does Scrooge say "Resistance is futile"?
Harriet Vane
Beautifully done. I love this recording. He's pretty amazing with all the different voices and accents.

Dana
I was lucky and got to see him perform it when I was in college. It was amazing.

Night Elf
So how do you listen to this without imagining the upcoming phrases as "Make it so!" and "Engage." Does Scrooge say "Resistance is futile"? Seriously, I thought the same thing the first time I listened through it. I didn't know if I could take it seriously, but he has a commanding voice. It was easy to get lost in the story. I have an older version that is 2-discs. It doesn't say abridged. I'm not sure why the reissue ones are abridged.
