(plus the alcohol is quicker) as for the germs lasting five days-sometimes when both kids are sick, I go from one to the other taking temps! The alcohol will kill/inactivate 99% of most things/stuff an oral therm. would pick up. I think swipe and then rinse to get the alcohol residue off would do well.
