TheRosySeven
Is there anyone here who has ever used the right start math card games as review/reinforcement? How did you like them?? I'm thinking they might be a great solution for my 8yo who is very kinesthetic and loves games!
lorisuewho
Yes. We have the games and they are great. They are great for review and reinforcement. On the other hand, I learned that I'm a mom who doesn't really like to play games. It would have worked out better if I was a game player. Farrar
We have them. Very much worth it.
BatmansWife
I found these videos helpful to me. It made many of the games easier for me to understand than reading the directions and trying to figure them out.
ByGrace3
We love them. They are wonderful for reinforcement! One of the greatest investments!
Tonia
I use RightStart math but if I didn't I would still use the games. They have been a great addition (and a lot more fun than boring math drill pages every day!) to our school day.
queenie
We love the games here too! Great supplement for us. Thanks AprilMay for posting the link to the videos!!!
LydiaG
We use the RS games on Fridays, when we have a light load. I try to find games that will reinforce what they've learned during the week, but that didn't work out today. Ds10 studied ratios, and I didn't see any games for that. Still, I use the games quite a bit, and we've owned them for about 3 years. I highly recommend them.
The Way of My People
This is a helpful, timely thread for me. DS just started school. I'd like to continue to have him practice his math facts at home, but he's so tired and crabby at the end of the day there's just no way I'm going to try to make him do a fact sheet or flash cards. These Right Start games sound perfect! Thanks!
alicai
This is an interesting thread for me. We are new to RS this year (K) and I have found that we are never using the games. Not to be a hater! I think it's probably that they are just not as relevant at this stage. I'm hopeful that they will become more interesting as we go along. Also - what in the heck are the bead cards?! I ordered the complete starter kit and for the life of me don't see any bead cards.
Sew happily ever after
Us we use the games often in our homeschool. Interestingly I use them just as often in my classroom at the brick and mortar building where I teach at an after school program. The kids just love the games (both my after school kids and my own kids) and I think spending 10-15 minutes on games is much more tolerable than a drill and kill worksheet. airforcefamily
We have the games but don't really use them. A big part of it is having little ones around who will grab at the cards. The older kids like using an ipad app to practice math facts. It's a basic 99c app and I can select which types of problems to work on then see their time and score. We used more in B. We are finishing level C and now use the games all of the time. There are some great ones for learning multiplication facts! In any case you are right that they get more relevant later, which is probably why you don't get the games book until level C ( unless you order it yourself)
