Kakids
I know very little about the game Minecraft. What ages is it appropriate for? Would it be appropriate for a seven year old 1st grader? It looks like a multiplayer game, can multiplayer be turned off?
Parrothead
I'd let a 7-year old play it. But I'd let a 5 year old play it on creative mode. Dd plays by herself.
Mandylubug
My 8 year olds play it on creative mode but they aren't really gamey individuals. Just now getting into the xbox (that is the version we have)
Kim in Appalachia
My 8ds plays it. We only have it on mobil devices, not on the PC, so he only interacts with his brothers and sister.
hmvaughan4
My six year old plays it on creative mode. He plays on both the Xbox and computer. DH set up his own server though, so he is not playing with anyone else.
theYoungerMrsWarde
I've been letting my son play since he was 5.5. Here's a blog post about it from that time. I've been meaning to write another one about how his creative play has advanced; especially with contraptions and machines with circuits, repeaters, levers, pistons, and the like. He plays by himself or with his dad.
Spy Car
I told my kid he could have Mindcrack when he turns 35, or I'm dead. Whichever happens first :D Bill

Nestof3
Yes, creative mode and they cannot chat with others. Big fans here. We are even going to Minecon. I've raised one to adulthood. Trust me, Minecraft is mild. :). Yes, the boys want to play too much, but I regulate. My youngest son Skypes with kids all over the world while he plays. When they move out, they just spend hours playing Skyrim and Medal of Honor as much as they can. Then they get married and decide their wife is the most fun of all. My eldest doesn't even have video games now. :)
