littlebylittle
....does it take for you to get school done? I have 2 early elementary kids this fall and trying to "guesstimate" time.
edeemarie
I have two that are officially schooling: dd7 and ds9. If they work diligently they can usually get everything except their 30 minutes of reading in about 3 hours at the most. But I do combine them in things like history, science, and Latin. LaCEmom
What are you using? Are you combining any subjects? How long you school each day seems to vary greatly from person to person, especially during the elementary years.

Ellie
As a homeschooler, I don't have any dc "in school." :D We were rarely productive doing Official School Stuff after lunch, so I'd have to go with 2 1/2 to 3 hours a day of table work. Julie Smith
I have two kids, 7 and 9. I suppose it depends on what you consider school. Right now it seems to be just hours of reading! It's a little over kill with the books, but that is where we are right now. As a matter of fact usually someone is bugging me for more book time. boscopup
We just finished school around 2 pm, after starting around 8 am and taking a break 10:30 am to watch Mythbusters. My first grader was done long ago. The 4th grader went until 2, so probably about 4 hours for him. He has some independent work. My first grader doesn't. ...................
4 hrs of actual school time including extras, art, music. It actually takes 5 hours till we are "finished for the day" because of lunch and breaks. We start at 9 and end before 2.
Ruby Rose
The schedule I wrote out the other day will be a school day that is about 4 hours including breaks/lunch. It does not include read alouds or pleasure reading time.
MerryAtHope
We typically spent 2-3 hours in early elementary. When my oldest was in 4th, it got closer to 4 hours (we could still "get done by lunch" if we started at 9 and bumped lunch to 1pm).
Mom0012
When my DC were both in elementary, we were generally done by 12:00 or 1:00. We started at 7:30 or 8:00. So about 5 hours tops. My goal was to always be done by lunch. I like the rule of thumb of an hour per grade during those years.
