happypamama
I think I'm going to get a laminator. Questions: 1) I can put multiple small cards in one pouch, right, and then just cut them apart pretty easily? 2) Do home-laminated pages work well with dry erase markers, to reuse practice sheets for my preschooler? I haven't been very impressed with using page protectors for that purpose; they just seem to crumple and wrinkle too easily.
mrs.m
1. Yes 2. Yes :)
boscopup
Yes, and yes, plus if you get the cheap 3M laminator most here use, you can put a single sheet in, laminate it, then cut it apart. As long as you don't let the cards get wet, they'll hold up well.
happypamama
Cool, like a puzzle, then. I was looking at the Purple Cows one, as it seems to get good reviews here and at amazon, and it comes with several pouches to start, which the comparable Scotch one does not. Erin
plus if you get the cheap 3M laminator most here use, Oooh! Do tell! Which one??
boscopup
Oooh! Do tell! Which one?? This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Laminator-Includes-Laminating-TL901SC/dp/B003GQ2RJM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1367701818&sr=8-4&keywords=scotch+laminator That one comes with 20 pouches to get you started. I bought the Universal brand pouches from Amazon, and they have worked just as well as the 3M pouches did. I have noticed no difference. There's a newer model that is $10 cheaper and still comes with pouches. I don't know if it's as good as the old one or not: http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Laminator-Includes-Assorted-TL902E/dp/B008587M7I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367701924&sr=8-2&keywords=scotch+laminator
happypamama
Ooooh, even better! The cheaper one gets good reviews too.

Farrar
I've found that wet erase (Vis a Vis) works much better than dry erase markers. But yeah, laminators are surprisingly cheap and easy.
blondeviolin
We buy our pouches from Sam's Club. I don't remember the price, but it came with A TON of pouches. We haven't gone through a whole pack in a year, which is saying something! So check Sam's or Costco or equivalent if you have one.

Micron4
I agree. I got my purple cow laminator at Costco. It came with 100 assorted pouches. I think it was $16, and it works great!
LaCEmom
I use a kids glue stick to put a dab of glue on the back of small pieces so I can position them precisely inside the pouches and fit as much as possible in there.
junepep
This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.co...cotch laminator That's the one that I have as well - I LOVE it! I'm hard on devices (somehow I even manage to break staplers) but I haven't broken this. It's worked perfectly every time.
Saraswati
This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.co...cotch laminator I own this one as well - I've had it for about 3 years, and it works great. I often laminate multiple smaller items in one sheet. The seal has always held great around the edges of the cards. I bought mine from Target for $14. happypamama
I picked up one at BJ's today, and wow, that's cool. I'm easily impressed, I guess. Now I'm looking for what else I can laminate. :) My 4yo is convinced that the machine is his, because I told him I wanted to make a little calendar for him to put dates and such on. He's going to love the little activities I'm printed out for him to try.
