bry's-gal
I noticed with my second child, all of the pets drove me nuts right before I went into labor. They were always underfoot- much different then their normal behavior. I've started to notice it again with this one. New pets since the last time but they are definitely clingier then normal- especially the female animals. They follow me around, sleep right next to me and generally get upset if I leave the room and they can't come with me. Anyone else notice similar behavior in their animals? Kebo
I had a cat that was attracted to pregnant women. If I had a pregnant friend over he would try to snuggle with their belly, which was totally not his usual style. I didn't notice his behavior change around the start of labor, but I wouldn't doubt that yours can sense such a thing. Animals can detect impending seizures, or the presence of cancer, etc.
mommymilkies
I also have belly magnets. I swear my babies heard more purring than Mama's heartbeat!! I had my last two at home and don't remember my animals doing anything funny until I actually went into labor. My dog would.not.go.away! And my cats watched at a distance. Amy in NH
Last night, my son's sweet ewe labored with her head in my lap... not what you were talking about, huh?
bry's-gal
The dog is pressed up against my legs. The cat is pressed up against my head. Maybe baby tonight?
Little Nyssa
This is an odd thing-- but as soon as I got pg with DS, our two kittens tried to come up and nurse from me-- this was even before I was sure I was pg!
chepyl
My dog was at my side all through pregnancy, 3 times. I did not notice changes before labor, bit I wasn't looking for it. He did know I was pregnant early on, his behavior definitely changed!
