Animals and labor?

I noticed with my second child, all of the pets drove me nuts right before I went into labor. They were always underfoot- much different then their normal behavior.

I've started to notice it again with this one. New pets since the last time but they are definitely clingier then normal- especially the female animals. They follow me around, sleep right next to me and generally get upset if I leave the room and they can't come with me. Anyone else notice similar behavior in their animals?

I had a cat that was attracted to pregnant women. If I had a pregnant friend over he would try to snuggle with their belly, which was totally not his usual style. I didn't notice his behavior change around the start of labor, but I wouldn't doubt that yours can sense such a thing. Animals can detect impending seizures, or the presence of cancer, etc.
