Belacqua
Remember in undergrad, when you started to suspect that everything a little odd was really a psych student's senior project? Thanks for making me feel young! :)
quark
LOL, you guys are making me spill my ice cream. I had asked for suggestions on a tutoring project I'm thinking of starting. The boy is becoming increasingly independent and mom has some time on her hands after outsourcing most of the homeschooling. Wondering if it's a good idea to offer math tutoring services in my home or at the library, but instead of giving the (I expect mostly PS) students drill work or using textbooks, I want to tutor using favorite HS curriculum e.g. Hands on Equations, Singapore Math etc. and also living math books, games. I wanted to know how feasible this idea is but deleted it because I was worried that it could be considered advertising. Kathy in Richmond managed to read the OP before I deleted it and she gave me some great ideas through PM.

wapiti
Well, I had to click because I couldn't miss a quark post - always something interesting. I say go for it. Let me know how it goes. I feel the same way, minus the time on my hands.

I was looking forward to seeing what people had to say because I like the idea of math tutoring too. Ha, now I've quoted your post so it won't disappear. La Texican
I dunno, there's a lady here who tutors kids and she teaches your kid whatever you want her to teach. I've only heard about her. Anyway, I think that's best. If a parent hires you then you just have to help them reach their personal goals. Good luck and best wishes of extra patience!
