Sunshine State Sue
I know I have seen on these boards that some people pay for their own bloodwork/labwork. I haven't found it in a search. How do I find one of those places? Thanks!
plansrme
There is a place called "Any (Lab) Test" with branches in the Atlanta area, at least. I think the parentheses are because the real name is Any Test, but the signs all have "(Lab)" on them. Terri
J-rap
Our clinic allows you to do some tests without a doctor's authorization. It's through some program, but I can't remember the name. You pick up one of their brochures in the lab area of our clinic, "check" the test you want done, and then go in during the time of day when they are running those tests. (It might be 8:00-10:00 every morning, for example.) They have a whole list of blood tests and lab work you can choose from, and they seem very reasonably priced to me. Sunshine State Sue
My doctor said my insurance would not pay for these without a diagnosis but I could pay for them myself: dehyroxyvitamin D - $40 Homecysteine - $30 CRP - $15 Ferritan not the typical ones...I'm just trying to shop around... Crimson Wife
Directlabs.com is a way to arrange for lab tests without getting a doctor's order. Not all states permit it, however. I haven't personally used it yet but I've heard good things about it from some fellow moms of autistic kids (many general pediatricians are skeptical about treating autism from a biomedical standpoint and so the moms are having to go around them to get the testing).
