linders Posted January 19, 2013 Share Posted January 19, 2013 Love them! But no, not humorous. Much more introspective and serious, lots of flashbacks or situations related to the tragedy of WWI. I get the sense that the author tried to convey the atmosphere of England in the '20s - sadness, change, growth. But I love Maisie - caring without being sappy or silly, smart but not smart aleck.
