mommaduck
Due to our only vehicle being totalled by a drunk the Sunday before Christmas (the car was parked, wee hours of the morning, no one was injured, the drunk driver was arrested and several drunk teens were fetched by parents), we are in need of a vehicle. I'm looking for an older 10, 12, or 15 passenger van (due to our family size). I'm looking in the $1500 to $2500 price range (the reason it needs to be older). I can't afford anything more than that. This will be our only vehicle and will be the vehicle that will help get us resettled eventually in another state. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you see anything or know of anyone, please message me. In the mean time, a few of the kids are getting a ride to church, but this means we can no longer go as a family and I have no means to get anything else that needs done, done. My husband is back on the road again.

PrincessMommy
Here's one http://washingtondc....3521554559.html The price is right but the mileage is quite high.
PrincessMommy
Here is another one. The body doesn't look so great, but it has a new engine: http://washingtondc....3485853795.html

athena1277
So sorry. We just got a good deal on a used minivan a few weeks ago in Chantilly, but the dealership doesn't have any big vans (I just checked). Are you at least able to use public transportation to at least get groceries? Hope you are able to find a vehicle soon. We were a 1 vehicle family for a year until we bought the minivan. I was often stuck at home with no transportation. :grouphug:
Dustybug
*I* am not in NoVA any longer, but I have several friends on FB and family that are. I'll post it there as well.
Dustybug
And ((hugs)) too. We don't have as large of a family, but we are a one vehicle family as well, so I know the strain that would put on you to have yours out of commission.
mommaduck
Considering we lost everything else this year and what little I have is either with me or in storage, yes, not having a vehicle is just another thing. But it opened us up to possibly getting a larger vehicle (before we would go places in shifts or have someone else help).
Cindy in C-ville
We just sold ours to a dealer about 3 weeks ago. We're a bit further away, in Raleigh, NC. I doubt he's sold it yet. It's a 1997 Ford Club Wagon and had just under 200,000 miles on it. It was running pretty well. My husband could tell you all the specs. With our two oldest in college now, we decided to downsize for the gas mileage. We kind of miss the van though. Let me know if you want me to check on it or give you any more information. mommaduck
Let me see what happens Monday (lower mileage and closer) first. Would the dealer go for such a low price?
mommaduck
We bought the van. It is a 12 passenger van the family had lovingly named Hyacinth the Hippo :D They are a homeschooling family and very sweet! I drove an hour and half for that van, then got back home around 1am. PrincessMommy
I love the name! We name our cars too. Our white passenger van has two names: Vanna (white) and Moby (as in the Great White whale). congratulations. I'm glad you were able to find one relatively quickly and without too much hassle. I hate buying cars, it can be such a hassle.
