  1. I am trying to decide between these two curriculums to use with my two oldest children in the fall. They will be 8 and nearly 7. I'm looking for opinions since I've never used either.
  2. This last pregnancy was tough on me. I was so ill for the entire first trimester and well into my second. My kids watched a lot of tv curled up next to me while I lay there trying not to vomit. :/ It wasn't the end of the world. They are not traumatized and yours won't be either. Relax and do what you can and forget about the rest. Congratulations!
  3. I would definitely call the police to see if there was anything they could do. You are not a bad pet owner either, those claims are a bit ridiculous, imo.
  4. Thank you everyone! Here is my chunky monkey boy:
  5. He came! He came! I went walking yesterday with DH and started having sharp painful contractions. We headed to the hospital to be checked and I was only 2cm. They were going to send me home after some observation, but my water ended up breaking. Our little boy came last night at 9:44. He weighed 9lbs 11oz! My biggest baby yet. :) We are so happy. NO induction! I didn't want to use cytotec because I was induced with it with #1 and believe it was the major contributor to my rather horrible experience there. Didn't mean to start a debate about it. Thanks everyone for your helpful advice and for helping me talk this all out!

  7. So tomorrow is induction day. Baby is still not here (12 days past now). I am going to call later to make sure they know that I will not consent to cytotec (which is what my dr. wants to use). I'm rather disappointed that baby has not made his appearance. :/
  8. How are you hanging in there? I'm 11 days past EDD right now. Still no baby. I told ya'll he didn't want to be an August baby! :P
  9. People are rude. Unfortunately, it is normal. I'm 41 weeks, 1 day pregnant with #4 and I'm so very weary of the comments.
  10. I haven't received anything yet either and have been wondering.
  11. We live in a 900sq ft, 2bdr, 1 bath house. We have no basement and no dining room. We have a dining table in our kitchen that seats 6. I'm pregnant with #4, so we will soon fill every spot. Unfortunately, because of our seating arrangements, we never have guests for dinner. We have to push the table against the wall after every meal so we can actually walk around our kitchen. I think a bench is a good idea. We have been looking into a similar option.
  12. I would tell over the phone. I wouldn't be able to keep it to myself.
  13. I'm 8 days past EDD today. I told DH that maybe this baby thinks he's too good for an August b-day. :P
  14. Are the "Trip Around the World" books really necessary? Could I just sub in books about the countries from the library?
  15. Wow. Sorry about the multiple posts. Not sure what happened there.
  16. I cook mostly from scratch and do the bulk of my shopping at Aldis. I buy all of my dairy there, natural pb, real maple syrup, dried pinto beans, ground turkey, sugar, spices, pasta, nearly all of our produce (I have never had issue here. In fact most of it is delicious), etc. I have heard that what is available varies from store to store as well.

  19. Still here. Still pregnant. lol Guess I was just having mood swings. :P
  20. I'm still here. :) 41 weeks today. I did keep my appt., just to ease DH's mind. It went surprisingly well! I didn't even HAVE to have a discussion. The dr. came in and said, "Did the nurse tell you what mw and I have been talking of doing?" I said, "No." Then he told me that they'd been discussing what to do so that I could have what I want (try to avoid induction) and to have what they want (not go too far past). So he said that he was going to send me for an u/s today and if everything looked good, then he'd schedule me an NST at the hospital on Sat. and since Monday was Labor Day and the hospital wouldn't schedule any procedures, we'd wait to schedule an induction until Tuesday. That would put me at one day short of 42 weeks (which is when I wanted to wait until anyway). U/S looked great. Tech said that my fluid was a little up, but that since baby was moving around just fine, it wasn't anything to be concerned about. So, I have to go Sat. for the NST. I was so relieved. So now I'm just hoping the little guy decides to come before Tues! My longest over so far was 41 weeks, 3 days, so we will see!
  21. Huh. I did NOT know that. I have been GBS + for the last three pregnancies and no one has ever mentioned that.
  22. Many women do not have ANY internal exams until delivery.
  23. What good is an internal exam even if I'm past due? I'm refusing it because he stripped my membranes without permission at 38 weeks the last time he performed one. I don't trust him not to do it again since he tried to tell me it was "routine." I had my membranes stripped THREE time with #2 and he STILL went to 10 days past my EDD. The last stripping was 3 days prior to his delivery, so they didn't do anything for me but make me crampy and more uncomfortable. :/
