Mynyel
I realize it is rated PG-13 but do you think it would be OK for an almost 11 year old? He has watched PG-13 before.. like Iron Man and Transformers.
Dana
We watched it with our 10 yo.
somo_chickenlady
Our 13 year old has seen it many times. I don't remember when he first saw it. We are really relaxed about those sort of things, though and don't do a lot of censoring unless it is outright sex scenes or stuff like that. skyday
We watched it on ABC Family the other night, so all the "bad" parts were edited. My kids are 9 and 7. It is my favorite Christmas movie. Cousin Eddie steals the show!
Cosmos
Most of it yes, depends on how you feel about curse words and there are two scenes that you may not want him to see (just saw the movie again last night) - one in the mall when Chevy Chase is shopping/flirting with the underwear salesgirl and when he day dreams about his new pool. Dh and I love this movie! We watch it every year. Last year, we let ds watch it for the first time at age 11. We skipped over those two scenes, and felt fine about the rest of the movie. Brilliant
We love this movie, but when my kids were younger they could always count on me to say, "Wow! Now I remember why this was rated PG-13!" because I'd always forget about the "bad" scenes. Anyway, there are only a couple as a pp mentioned. It's one of our favorites. Jennifer3141
My kids saw it for the first time this year. The sexy stuff disgusted them both because they think that is disgusting but they laughed like maniacs.
Dandelion
We let DS9 watch it and just forwarded through the two parts mentioned. There's some language throughout the movie, but it's pretty tame compared to the movies that are coming out now.
Lizzie in Ma
It has tons of "inappropriate" content. Nonetheless, it has been a family tradition to begin our holiday season by watching it every Thanksgiving. Hilarious fun and not to be missed. We generally don't enjoy crude humor but this movie stands on it's own. I change my ringtones to quotes from it every year at Christmas time. Each family member has their favorite quote as a ringtone on my phone. It makes me happy.
Annie G
It's been a family favorite here for years. We watch it Thanksgiving night, to kick off our holiday movie season. Oddly enough, year round dh calls our son Russ- during the squirrel scene Clark calls Russ and he answers, "right here, Dad." That happens in our house every day. Well, not the squirrel part, thankfully. Love this movie!!
