blessed2fosteradopt
My daughter has really taking a fondness to all things coloring and drawing. I would like to put together a gift for her incorporating some great art supplies, papers, maybe an easel and/or a book. Any suggestions for us? Thanks again, Lisa
Tess in the Burbs
at that age I bought my dd really good art supplies and a few how to draw books of subjects she liked. I got colored pencils, oil pastels, water color crayons, acrylic paints and lots of different papers, canvas boards and good brushes. I found the boards at Michaels but I know Dick Blick carries them too. 5x7 and 8x10 cavas like boards you can frame.
LifeLovePassion
prismacolor pencils, as big of set as you can (use a coupon at Mikes or JoAnn's) and a sketchbook
Susan in TN
My kids love Ed Emberley's "Drawing Book of Animals". Very fun and not expensive. http://www.amazon.com/Ed-Emberleys-Drawing-Book-Animals/dp/0316789798
Night Elf
Definitely a sketchbook. My kids still have theirs from like 6 - 7 years ago. And a pretty basket to hold all of her supplies. Is she going to paint? How about a pretty smock?
Incognito
Stained glass coloring books are really fun. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_26?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=stained+glass+coloring+book+kids&sprefix=stained+glass+coloring+boo%2Caps%2C304 We have some little ones too that are cheaper ($1.50?).
