Lara in Colo
We went on a trip this weekend, puppy got away from us for a few minutes (children thought we had him, we thought they had him) he came back but we soon discovered he had eaten fryer grease that was outside a restaurant across the parking lot. We discovered this when he threw it up--- on the floor of my van!!! Lots and lots of grease. My car smells like old french fries. How does one clean this??? I was going to start with dawn and boiling water and a wet dry vac and repeat. Perhaps one of you ladies knows a super duper grease remover for fabric. Suggestions are more than welcome. QueenCat
If you plan on having this van for a while, it might be worth a professional cleaning at one of those car shop's that does detailing work.

Ugh. Sorry you are dealing with that mess!!
melissad2
I would try some LA's Totally Awesome cleaner. I find it in the dollar store and I have seen it at Walmart. It will clean just about anything and is a great degreaser!
Lara in Colo
Thanks for the suggestions. I will look for the cleaner. The van is in good shape but old (15yrs). I will try to do this myself first. Fortunately, he barfed near the door and mostly on the floor mat (which I can toss if I need to). Ugh--if only we had waited 10 more minutes to go sightseeing!! Desert Rat
If LA cleaner doesn't work, I'd try covering the mess with kitty litter and baking soda. Both soak up grease and odor. Leave it over night and scrape/vaccuum up. See if that works. That's what I would do. Puppies and kids! They eat the weirdest stuff! Yuck!
