Julie in CA
I just came across the website with all of the interactive activities for Spielvogel's Western Civ, and I haven't heard anyone mention if they use it. I'm so impressed and excited, but I feel like it's too good to be true that there's interactive maps, essay questions, quizes, crossword puzzles, online flashcards, etc, for free and ready to use! The parts that I explored, I really liked. Anyone have any input on this? http://www.wadsworth.com/cgi-wadsworth/course_products_wp.pl?fid=M20b&product_isbn_issn=0534646026&discipline_number=

Julie in CA
I used the quizzes/tests as study guides. You used the quizzes/tests from the website, or from the book? (just making sure I'm understanding you right!)

Chris in VA
From the website. I printed them out and told ds he could determine what was "important" about the chapter by answering the questions--if he could answer them, then he would have grasped the main points of the chapter. Jane in NC
Frankly we sound that the multiple choice quizzes less than satisfactory, but this could just be the nature of multiple choice. These questions can focus on minutia or what we saw as less important information; the essay questions, however, were meatier and seemed more appropriate. I did let my son "take a break" from his studies by doing the vocabulary concentration or the crossword. This does solidify some of the key words associated with the material. Best regards, Jane
