dtsmamtj
What is the name of the tuna salad that is sometimes served at showers, teas, etc. that has the grapes in them. Is all that is in it: tuna grapes mayo Thank you.
SJ.
Is it a type of waldorf salad with grapes instead of apples?
Cinder
Hmm, I've had chicken salad with grapes in it but never tuna. Are you sure it was tuna? Perhaps it was just someone's way of making tuna salad more interesting? Or presenting something less expensive than chicken salad?

I like tuna, but I'd prefer chicken salad + grapes at a luncheon/shower. As for the name, I've seen it called Napa Valley Chicken Salad. Some recipes have pecans, which I leave out. I see recipes with green onion, celery & other things added, but the key is the halved grapes.
melbotoast
It's usually chicken salad but I've also had it made with turkey...yum!
Parrothead
When I make chicken/turkey salad I use: Chicken/turkey mayo chopped onion or scallion chopped celery quartered (or chopped) grapes chopped pecans (or walnuts) salt and pepper When I make tuna salad I use tuna mayo chopped onion (or scallion) chopped celery chopped pecans (or walnuts) sweet pickle relish chopped Fuji apple lemon juice chopped hard-boiled egg No recipe for either, just whatever feels/looks right. umsami
Is it yellow-y? Does it have any curry powder in it? I've had one that has tuna, halved grapes, celery, mayo, salt, and pepper I think, but typically I see it with chicken as others have mentioned. One restaurant I used to go to put raisins and almonds in their tuna salad and it was yummy.
dtsmamtj
OK, this is why nothing was making sense when I tried looking it up BEFORE asking the "Hive" - you are correct, it is chicken salad and NOT tuna - :blushing: I will look up chicken salad and/or Waldorf. THANK YOU!!!!
