Village Hut Mom
Looking to invest in some Horrible Histories... books and wondering what the word was about which ones are most highly recommended and if they are worth the money. Alternate titles? Thanks.
kalanamak
Looking to invest in some Horrible Histories... books and wondering what the word was about which ones are most highly recommended and if they are worth the money. Alternate titles? Thanks. They have been for us. I've learned a lot too! I got the "horrible box" used in "very good" condition quite reasonably. Kiddo browses and we read a full one when we are on a topic.
DaffodilDreams
YES!!! The free youtube videos are a huge hit here, too. We love all things Horrible. :001_smile:
BugsMama
Can you buy the DVDs in US format anywhere??
Abeille
Not sure about DVDs, but if you have Discovery Streaming you can download them from there. Think it was the Satori Smiles blog that had direct links to them (for which I was very grateful, as searching at Discovery's site is truly stinky). bethben
The histories are pretty horrible and gruesome - just so you're aware. Now on the other hand, if you just want gruesome, horrible science is a hit around here. Beth
Farrar
Yes for most kids. I think they're best for independent readers - especially kids who like weird facts, nonfiction and a little gross out stuff.
Hedgehogs4
The difficulty that we have run into is that my ds does not always understand the British humor in them. Other than that they are fun.
Mom0012
My dd loves the Horrible Histories, but they are gruesome. If we hadn't already purchased a number of individual titles, I would buy the big box of Horrible Histories from Horrible Ray. He has free shipping. I recently bought the Bulging Box of Science for my dd's birthday. Lisa
