Hemp seeds

Recommended Posts

I am going to buy dd12 chia seeds as they will help to keep her body hydrated. As a DELICIOUS dessert I mix 2 tbsp with coconut milk and cinnamon stevia. TO DIE FOR. And SOOOOO incredibly healthy. I am also going to buy raw cacao powder and chocolate stevia to mix things up a bit.

When I was reading about chia seeds I came across an article about hemp seeds. I never tried them. I know NOTHING about them. I read that they are a complete protein and have more digestible protein than milk, eggs, cheese, meat, fish! Dd had a protein deficiency so I plan to add these to our diets.

Please share what you know/like about them and how you eat them.

I add them to smoothies and on nutbutter sandwiches. I've also topped salads with them. You can also make hemp milk with them.

I've added them to smoothies and put them on granola. Haven't noticed a flavor per se, just added for the nutrition. They're expensive so I don't use them often.

I've tried coating a banana in them to help lower the glycemic punch for my diabetic daughter. She wasn't a big fan.

Thanks, ladies. I guess I will use them the same way as I use flax seeds. i will grind them and toss them in home made salad dressings, smoothies, etc. I am going to make sure she gets some in regularly and will have to experiment.

I like eating a spoonful of them in the morning just plain. I'm not much of a breakfast person and they give me the extra that I need without me having to eat much in the morning. My kids like them on their oatmeal and I have added them to smoothies before. My one son likes them sprinkled into his PB&J sandwiches.

I love the taste of hemp seeds. We got our last batch (believe it or not) at the bird store. Same quality at a fraction of the price.

I'm going to try that!! I was just at my co-op and saw a bag that looked to be about a cup and a half for $6 and change. Thanks!
