melissad2
I have grapefruit seed extract and gentian violet on hand, anyone used either with any success. Also I'm breastfeeding if that makes a difference.
mumto2
I am no good at the medication side of things. But you both need to be treated or you will just keep getting the yeast/thrush. I hope your baby gets better soon!:grouphug:
oraetstudia
Gentian violet has always worked well on my babies. It is very messy, but it cleared up thrush quickly.

Dory
I used (at my mom's suggestion) grapeseed oil, Coconut oil on my nipples and inside my babies mouth, and a few drops of apple cider vinegar around my nipples. It worked fairly well for me.
Terabith
Gentain violet worked like a charm for mine. Only one application needed. Plus, it was fun. We put naked baby on a dark colored towel in living room and painted violet tattoos on her belly...... The stuff STAINS, but it works, and I have adorable memories and pictures. Colleen in NS
I have grapefruit seed extract and gentian violet on hand, anyone used either with any success. Also I'm breastfeeding if that makes a difference. We had success within a few days with gentian violet. I painted it on me and in baby's mouth right after nursing, so it had a few hours in between feedings to take effect.

Guest
Gentian violet. Worked both times. I hate thrush; it was agony. Reducing sugar will help; it feeds the yeast. Wash bras after every use so you don't give it back to yourself. Sterilize any pacis or other things that the baby used.
