Bensmom
Is the TerraNova (standardized test) used in public schools, or only private? Last year my son took a different test at our local private school. The test results showed percentile compared to public school students, and percentile compared to private school students. (Yes, there was a substantial difference!) This year the school used the TerraNova. The results only show one percentile index. Are private and public school test takers grouped together, or is this test not used in public school settings? Dmmetler
The TN state TCAP test is a state-specific version of the Terra Nova. I think the difference may be if your testing group used the ACSI version-since it's designed for Christian schools, I doubt it's normed with public school samples. My DD7 took it last week, and the version she took was explicitly labeled as the ACSI version, although her testing site didn't administer the bible. I'm not sure how it differs other than having a bible subtest.

AK_Mom4
Terra-Nova is used here in public schools, but only for testing certain grades (5th and 7th).
