Pam "SFSOM" in TN
... that I have absolutely no sense of humor these days. But I find it incredibly creepy that newspapers print pictures of naked children with no discernible genitalia gazing lasciviously at one another. They have no CLOTHES on. They are CHILDREN. They are CREEPY. *shudder* That is all.
nancypants
Um. Weird. :001_huh: I'm with ya all the way Sister Pam!
Chris in VA
I never really got the appeal of those. Marigold, with their tight-@ss little flowers, and Precious Moments, with their huge weird heads, also creep me out. What does that MEAN?! cin
Oh my, my mother had a whole scrapbook of those she saved and shared with my dad. I never thought about them being naked children. I just thought they were cartoon characters, like smurfs or something, representing Male & Female (with the hair) in love.
genie
We had a set of glasses with those on them, like the ones Burger King used to give away or something. I always thought they were strange.
GraceinMD
Yeah - odd. Although *I* think she's assessing his lack of n*ppl*s, (what's up with that?) and he's looking (appropriately?) embarrassed.
Michelle T
Ugh, I can't believe that Love Is.. is still around! These were always on our fridge growing up, usually with some syrupy endearment written on them from my dad to my mom. I always thought they were creepy too. Why don't they put on some clothes? clwcain
and I'm pretty sure it's not a PMS-thing. ;) I can't stand them, either. It's not the nudity. It is that they are twee and insipid. Twaddle, if I ever saw it. :D
Old Dominion Heather
Ewww! I've never seen them before and hopefully I can forget their existance.
RoughCollie
I remember these when they first came out in the 60s or 70s. At the time, I didn't think of them as being clothing-impaired children. They were just cartoon characters in what I thought at the time was a stupid cartoon. I still find them to be insipid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Is... ... that I have absolutely no sense of humor these days.
