Love is... comics. It's probably either PMS or the fact...

Oh my, my mother had a whole scrapbook of those she saved and shared with my dad. I never thought about them being naked children. I just thought they were cartoon characters, like smurfs or something, representing Male & Female (with the hair) in love.

Ugh, I can't believe that Love Is.. is still around!

 

These were always on our fridge growing up, usually with some syrupy endearment written on them from my dad to my mom.

 

I always thought they were creepy too. Why don't they put on some clothes?

I remember these when they first came out in the 60s or 70s. At the time, I didn't think of them as being clothing-impaired children. They were just cartoon characters in what I thought at the time was a stupid cartoon.

 

I still find them to be insipid.

... that I have absolutely no sense of humor these days.

 

But I find it incredibly creepy that newspapers print pictures of naked children with no discernible genitalia gazing lasciviously at one another. They have no CLOTHES on. They are CHILDREN. They are CREEPY. *shudder*
