Evergreen Academy
Does anyone have a good source for free, online worksheets that can be used to review money concepts? I'm thinking very basic, as in identifying the different types of coins, the amounts they represent, and then simple math problems using the coins. I'd also be interested in an online game that might reinforce this concept. Thanks so much for any input; any resources I've found require some sort of membership that I'm not interested in at this time.
QuirkyKidAcademy
mathfactcafe.com is what I've used recently.
Walking-Iris
Not free or online--but the Kumon books are really great imo for learning individual concepts in math. There are a few workbooks that focus solely on coins and money. They're relatively inexpensive at amazon.
KathyBC
Beside mathfactcafe, there's: http://www.noetic-learning.com/mathdrill/money.jsp and some online math games here: http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/math.htm#dollarsandcents
Clear Creek
Enchanted Learning has a free booklet that you can print off (one page at a time for non-members) that covers the different coins. My oldest used that booklet for at least a year (beginning in 2nd grade) because she had the hardest time remembering which coin was which. I let her keep the booklet in her math book and whenever she encountered a problem that involved adding money, she was allowed to use the booklet to help her identify all the coins. momsuz123
I am trying to post a bunch of great printables on my blog. I have several great ones listed that also have really good money worksheets. Good luck.
KathyBC
When my dd was learning about coins, I pulled out a big tin of them every time it came up in her math book and we would literally count out every problem. Money's fun. :D
Evergreen Academy
Thanks so much for the responses, you've been very helpful. I love the Enchanted Learning book - it won't let me print even a page, though, without being a member. I think I may have to join! Reading your responses is also reminding me that when some other kiddos were stuck on money, I'd make a breakfast menu, complete with prices, and we had a "coin can" where they'd need to choose the appropriate change to pay for their meal they'd "ordered." They loved that game, and I think it might help Littlest right about now. Plus, he'd love it. :001_smile:
ZooRho
I just googled money problems kids worksheets and got a bunch for my tutoring kids today. But I think the best thing for money teaching is to play with real money. make a store out of toys. and have them buy and sell them.

grace'smom
http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Money-Bags-Value/dp/B00004TDTQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1325849308&sr=1-1 This game helped my daughter- but when I bought it the price was 11.99... I'm not sure I'd buy it for almost 20.
